TTPRADARSalt Lake City's Global Entry enrollment center is booking interviews 158 days out, according to TTPRadar's scan of the CBP scheduler on 2026-08-30. The next open slot lands on 2027-02-04. That is the longest wait of any of the 114 enrollment centers CBP operates nationwide, and it is not close.
How bad, compared to everywhere else
The same scan put the median wait across all 114 centers at 3 days. Ninety-four of the 114 centers had some near-term availability, and only 16 had none at all. Salt Lake City is not part of a broad national slowdown. It is an outlier sitting well past every other center in the country.
We do not know why SLC specifically is bottlenecked right now, and a single day's scan cannot tell you whether this is a lasting pattern or a temporary spike. What it does tell you is that, as of 2026-08-30, booking locally in Salt Lake City is the slowest way to get a Global Entry interview in the United States. You don't have to interview in Salt Lake City
CBP does not require applicants to book at the center nearest their home. A conditionally-approved applicant can schedule the required interview at any participating Global Entry enrollment center nationwide through the Trusted Traveler Programs portal.
That matters here: Boise and Denver are both faster, though not fast in absolute terms. Boise's center was 59 days out in the same 2026-08-30 scan, 99 days shorter than Salt Lake City, but that still made Boise the fourth-longest wait of any of the 114 centers nationally. Denver did not appear among the eight longest-wait centers that day, and the eighth-place entry stood at 46 days, so Denver's wait was at or below that, under a third of SLC's.

Skip the enrollment center entirely if you're flying internationally
If you already have an international trip booked, there is a way around the enrollment center queue altogether. CBP's Enrollment on Arrival program lets a conditionally-approved applicant finish the Global Entry interview at the airport instead of at a center appointment.
On landing from an international flight at a participating airport, the traveler is directed to a CBP primary inspection booth, where an officer conducts the Global Entry interview, collects biometrics, and completes enrollment on the spot. Both Salt Lake City International Airport and Denver International Airport are among the airports offering this.
The catch: this only works if you already have international travel booked and have already been conditionally approved. It is not a way to enroll without leaving the country, so it does not help someone stuck in the SLC queue with no upcoming trip. For applicants who do have a flight coming up, though, it is worth checking before booking any enrollment center appointment at all.
If you're already booked out in Salt Lake City
Do not cancel a scheduled interview to try for something better. On the Trusted Traveler Programs portal, canceling a scheduled interview can cancel the underlying application. Use the "Reschedule Interview" option instead, which preserves the application while you search for a different date or a different center.
The scheduler also changes constantly. Centers add slots and other applicants cancel or reschedule throughout the day, so an appointment that was 158 days out this morning can move up without warning.
