Finding the office

From Florida's Turnpike or I-95, take I-595 east toward Port Everglades. I-595 turns into Eller Drive. The 1800 building is on the southeast corner of Eller Drive and McIntosh Road, just before the security checkpoint, so you do not need to pass it. The CBP office is on the 1st floor on the east side of the building, entered from the main lobby.

CBP asks applicants to check the interview location carefully. The scheduler also has a separate listing for Fort Lauderdale airport's Terminal 1, so confirm which location your appointment confirmation names before you set off.

What to bring

A passport is required for the interview. Bring your valid travel document (passport, permanent resident card or visa) and your driver's license. Only the applicant is allowed into the interview area, so anyone who comes with you will wait outside it. Each applicant, including children, needs their own appointment.

Getting an earlier interview

South Florida has several Global Entry centers within an easy drive. Miami International Airport, PortMiami and West Palm Beach are listed below with their live waits, each on its own calendar. Watching two or three at once gives you more chances to see an earlier date. If you already hold a Fort Lauderdale appointment, rescheduling to an earlier one in your Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account is free.

FLL receives international flights. If you are conditionally approved and flying home from abroad, Enrollment on Arrival lets you finish the interview when you land. Check that your arrival airport is on CBP's current Enrollment on Arrival list before you count on it.
