A Global Entry enrollment event is a temporary interview site run by CBP. It is open only to applicants who are already conditionally approved, and you book an interview appointment through your Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) account. If your nearest enrollment center is booked out, an event can be a way around it, provided one is scheduled near you.
What enrollment events are
CBP holds these events at places that are not normal enrollment centers: airports, cruise terminals and convention centers. They run for a limited time at each site. Recent examples from CBP local media releases:
- Tallahassee International Airport, Sept 15 to 17, 2026, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Jaxport Cruise Terminal, Jacksonville, May 26 to 29 and June 1 to 3, 2026.
- McCormick Place, Chicago, June 16 to 18.
Other releases cover Tampa and Ft. Myers, Wilmington, Cut Bank, Spokane and an IPW conference event. All of the events listed above have already passed, so this is a guide to the format, not a list of what is open today. The event details come from CBP local media releases. The CBP enrollment centers page is a directory of fixed centers and does not list events.
Who can use one
You must already be conditionally approved. An event is not a place to start an application, only to finish the interview step.
Some events are regional. The Tallahassee event was limited to applicants from Central North Florida, the Big Bend region and South Georgia. Read the release for each event before you plan travel around it.
How to book an interview appointment
The CBP event releases we read describe the same steps:
- Log in to your account at ttp.dhs.gov.
- Choose Schedule Interview.
- Pick the event location from the list.
In the Tallahassee release, the choices were "Tallahassee International Airport" or "Florida locations". If you do not see the event, check that you picked the right location group before assuming it is full.
Walk-ins
Policy varies by event. The Tallahassee release said walk-ins may be accommodated if space permits. A summary of another release said confirmed appointments get priority. There is no general rule, so do not treat a walk-in as a plan. Book an appointment if one is offered.
What to bring
The Tallahassee release lists three things: a valid passport, photo identification and proof of residency. CBP's Enrollment on Arrival page gives more detail on the same documents:
- All valid passports, if you hold more than one.
- Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, mortgage statement or utility bill.
- Your permanent resident card, if applicable. Summaries of event releases say it should be machine-readable.
That page exempts minors from the residency documentation requirement.
When an event is worth it
For most applicants, a fixed center is enough. In our scan of 114 CBP scheduler centers on 2026-09-29, 89 had availability and 21 did not, and the median wait was 0 days. Most fixed centers had same-day slots.
The exceptions are long. Salt Lake City International Airport had a wait of 149 days (Feb 25, 2027). Springfield-Branson MO was 65 days, Del Rio TX 57, San Francisco 44 and Phoenix Sky Harbor 42. An event is most useful if you live near one of those centers, or if no fixed-center slot is open. You can compare current waits on our wait times page.
If there is no event near you
Enrollment on Arrival also requires conditional approval. It lets you complete the interview when you land at a participating airport, so no enrollment center appointment is needed. The Tallahassee release named it as the alternative for applicants who could not attend the event.
If you would rather keep trying for a fixed-center slot, our browser alerts watch for cancellations.
After the interview
We could not confirm how long final approval takes after an event interview, or who to contact if your status stays conditionally approved. Do not assume a fixed timeline. You can check your status by logging in to your TTP account.
