TTPRADARPhoenix Sky Harbor's Global Entry enrollment center is booking interviews 49 days out. That's according to TTPRadar's scan of the CBP Trusted Traveler scheduler on Sept. 2, 2026, which found the next open slot at Sky Harbor sitting on Oct. 21, 2026.
That ties Phoenix with San Francisco for the second-longest wait among the 114 enrollment centers TTPRadar checked that day, behind only Salt Lake City at 159 days. It's a striking number for a hub airport that, unlike SFO, hasn't had its own guide on this site until now.
The wait: 49 days, tied for second-worst in the country
Context makes the number worse. The median next-available date across all 114 centers TTPRadar scanned was just 1 day, and 87 of those centers had some bookable availability. Phoenix is a clear outlier, not part of a general slowdown.
Compare it to two other hub cities already covered on this site: Los Angeles International and Miami International both had same-day interview availability on the same Sept. 2, 2026 scan, a 0-day wait. Phoenix travelers are looking at seven weeks longer than someone booking at LAX or MIA that same afternoon.

Why the queue got this long
Part of the pressure traces back to a nationwide shutdown of the program itself. DHS suspended Global Entry enrollment and interview scheduling entirely, effective 6 a.m. on Feb. 22, 2026, citing staffing constraints during a partial government shutdown that had begun Feb. 14. The program came back online on March 11, 2026, after 17 days offline.
That 17-day freeze didn't just delay new applicants. It pushed every interview that would have happened during that window back into the queue at every enrollment center nationwide, Phoenix included. There's no evidence of a Phoenix-specific cause, such as a local staffing cut or a Sky Harbor demand surge, beyond that shared nationwide disruption. What's clear is that Phoenix's backlog hasn't cleared six months later, while comparable hubs like LAX have.
Is driving somewhere else actually faster?
Not automatically. The instinct to drive to a border crossing and get it done there doesn't hold up everywhere. Two Texas border enrollment centers, Eagle Pass and Del Rio, had longer waits than Phoenix in the same Sept. 2, 2026 scan: 103 days and 68 days respectively, against Phoenix's 49.
Arizona does have other CBP enrollment centers besides Sky Harbor, including one in Tucson and locations at Arizona border ports of entry. Current wait times at those centers weren't confirmed to a citable source for this piece, and they change day to day, so the only reliable move is to check each one directly rather than assume any of them is faster. Enrollment on Arrival: a different route entirely
If your travel plans include landing on an international flight, CBP's Enrollment on Arrival program is worth checking. Conditionally-approved applicants can complete their Global Entry interview at passport control on arrival, at a dedicated primary-inspection booth, instead of booking a separate appointment at a domestic center like Sky Harbor. It's available at more than 60 airports. Whether Phoenix Sky Harbor itself participates wasn't confirmed here, so check CBP's own program page before counting on it.
When to check for a cancellation
CBP releases a fresh batch of interview appointment slots on the first Monday of each month, at 9 a.m. local time. Beyond that monthly release, the scheduler also opens up individual slots throughout the month as other applicants cancel, and those cancellations can appear at any hour.
