In TTPRadar's scan on 17 October 2026, Salt Lake City International Airport had the longest Global Entry interview wait of the 115 enrollment centers we checked. The next interview appointment was on 2027-03-14, 148 days out. The national median that day was 3 days.
If you are in Utah or the Intermountain West and you are conditionally approved, you have three realistic paths.
What the scan showed
Of the 115 centers, 93 had availability and 18 had none. The soonest centers, including Miami, JFK, Newark and Guam, had same-day slots. Salt Lake City sat at the opposite end of the list.
Waits change daily, so treat these numbers as a dated snapshot. The live Global Entry wait times board shows where things stand now.
| Center | Wait on 2026-10-17 | Next slot then |
|---|---|---|
| Salt Lake City International Airport (UT) | 148 days | 2027-03-14 |
| Boise Enrollment Center (ID) | 51 days | 2026-12-07 |
| San Francisco | 46 days | 2026-12-02 |
| Phoenix Sky Harbor (AZ) | 44 days | 2026-11-30 |
Boise was about 97 days sooner than Salt Lake City. Phoenix and San Francisco were sooner still, though none of the three was close to same-day.
Option 1: book another western center
This is the most direct fix. On the scan date, Boise, San Francisco and Phoenix all offered slots more than three months earlier than Salt Lake City.
The cost is a trip. We did not gather fare or mileage figures, so we will not guess at them. The question is whether the days saved are worth a flight or a long drive, plus time off work.
One question we could not settle: whether the scheduler lets a Utah resident pick a center in another state. CBP's enrollment center page lists centers by state, including Utah and Idaho, but does not say. Check the scheduler in your own account before you plan a trip around it.
Option 2: Enrollment on Arrival
If you already travel internationally, this can cost you nothing extra. CBP's Enrollment on Arrival page says a conditionally approved applicant can complete the interview with a CBP officer during admissibility inspection after landing at an international terminal.
It only works if you have a trip abroad coming up. Bring these:
- A valid passport, or all your passports if you use more than one.
- Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, mortgage or rental statement, or utility bill. Minors are exempt.
- A permanent resident card, if you have one.
If you need a disability accommodation, tell the officer right away. The interview can be rescheduled if one is not available.
Option 3: take the Salt Lake City slot and watch for earlier ones
You can book the 2027-03-14 slot (or whatever is earliest when you look) and keep checking. We cannot point to an official CBP source on how or when cancelled appointments are released, so we will not promise that earlier slots appear.
Checking by hand is tedious. TTPRadar's free browser alerts watch centers for you, and paid text (SMS) alerts are available if you do not keep a browser open. Neither guarantees a slot.
How to choose
Start with what you already have planned. If an international trip is coming up, Enrollment on Arrival needs no detour. If not, compare the days saved at Boise, Phoenix or San Francisco against the price of getting there.
If no international trip or western city trip is planned, the Salt Lake City slot plus alerts is the lowest-effort route. Do not build travel plans that depend on having Global Entry by a particular date.
What we don't know
We have no CBP explanation for why Salt Lake City is this far behind, and we will not invent one. Our scan measures the DHS scheduler, and TTPRadar is not affiliated with CBP or DHS.
