On 7 October 2026, we scanned 114 enrollment centers. 95 had open interview appointments, and the median wait was 0 days. The longest wait was Salt Lake City at 152 days, with its next slot on 8 March 2027.
The headline is not "Global Entry is backed up" or "Global Entry is easy". It is a split. The median center had a slot that morning, and a handful were booked far out.
How we measured
This is our own measurement. We checked the Trusted Traveler Programs scheduler at 06:00 ET on 7 October 2026 and recorded the earliest open interview appointment at each enrollment center. It is not a CBP publication, and we are not affiliated with CBP or DHS.
The scheduler is the one at ttp.dhs.gov. CBP lists the Global Entry enrollment centers where you complete the in-person interview after conditional approval.
Wait here means days from the scan to the earliest open slot. It is a snapshot of one morning, not a forecast.
Centers with same-day slots
The soonest slot at at least 8 centers was the same day as the scan. Our data lists exactly these 8, so the true count of same-day centers may be higher.
- Mobile Regional Airport (AL)
- Anchorage (AK)
- Fairbanks (AK)
- Douglas (AZ)
- Nogales (AZ)
- Los Angeles International (CA)
- Wilmington (DE)
- Washington (DC)
The list mixes a big international gateway like LAX with small and remote centers like Fairbanks and Douglas.
The centers with long waits
A few centers were booked well out. These were the longest in the scan:
| Center | Days to earliest slot | Next available |
|---|---|---|
| Salt Lake City | 152 | 8 March 2027 |
| Eagle Pass | 89 | 4 January 2027 |
| Des Moines | 76 | 22 December 2026 |
| Del Rio | 55 | 1 December 2026 |
| San Francisco | 49 | 25 November 2026 |
Next on the list were El Paso at 44 days, Phoenix Sky Harbor at 42 and Cleveland at 41.
What the split means for choosing a center
If your home center is on the long list, check the centers near it before you accept a date months away. The same scan shows how uneven it can be within one state: Arizona had same-day slots at Douglas and Nogales while Phoenix Sky Harbor was at 42 days, and California had LAX same-day while San Francisco was at 49.
You can check a specific center on our live wait times page, and see every center we monitor on the locations page.
Two different questions
"Does this center have a slot today?" and "why is this center booked out?" are separate questions. Our scan answers the first. It does not tell you the cause of a long wait at any center, and we will not guess at one.
It also does not tell you your odds. The figure is days to the earliest open slot, not the probability of getting one. A center showing 0 days on a given morning has a slot at that moment, and that is all the number says.
The scheduler changes as appointments are booked and released, so a scan is only true for the time it ran. If the center you want shows a long wait, you can set up a free browser alert and let it watch for an earlier opening.
One more route
CBP also describes Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival as a separate route for some applicants. Eligibility is CBP's call, so read its page before you plan around it.
